Thirteen episodes. Five countries. One travelling visual language.

Fashion Diaries was a travelling fashion documentary series produced by Nabil Issa of Signature Productions for Dubai TV, hosted by Diala Makki and directed by Nassif Al Rayess.

Across 13 episodes, the series moved through fashion houses, ateliers, runways, workshops and cities across France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and the United Kingdom. Each episode opened a different door, but the series still had to feel like one continuous journey.

The season entered worlds including Bulgari High Jewelry, Loewe, Rochas, Piaget, Chanel, Dior, Armani, Boucheron, Vogue Fashion Dubai, Alberta Ferretti, Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab.

The challenge was not simply to document those names. It was to find the human and visual center of each episode, whether that meant craftsmanship, heritage, architecture, a runway, a founder or the people working behind the house.

Nassif led the travelling production team and later the post-production team at Cutting Edge, Signature Productions’ in-house post department. The work had to stay cinematic while moving between countries, tight schedules and environments that changed completely from one episode to the next.

That required a compact team, quick visual decisions and a production language that could adapt without losing its identity. New camera tools were adopted when they genuinely opened a better way to move through a space or bring the audience closer to the subject.

Fashion Diaries was an early lesson in how to make ambitious work with a mobile, agile production structure. It combined international access, documentary instinct and a willingness to adopt useful technology without letting the technology become the story.

That balance remains central to Spred today.
